Derek Lam is an American fashion designer. He was born in San Francisco, California and graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1990. Lam worked for designers such as Michael Kors before launching his eponymous label in 2003 which debuted at New York fashion week. In 2005, Lam won the CFDA Perry Ellis Swarovski Award for new designers. The following year, Italian luxury house Tod's appointed him creative director. 10 Crosby is a diffusion label and takes its name from the address of the designer's Soho office in Manhattan.
